The mission of the Quantitative and Systems Biology (QSB) graduate program is to equip students with knowledge of quantitative approaches to study biological systems and give them a solid scientific foundation and philosophical outlook that prepares them to be leaders of cutting edge interdisciplinary scientific research.  Students will study the integration of systems at molecular, cellular, organ, organismal or ecological levels to better understand the overall function of biological systems as a whole. The QSB graduate group at UC Merced offers individually tailored programs that highlight multidisciplinary research and training for doctoral students who want to be at the forefront of this revolution of the biological sciences.  Via an integrated and advanced curriculum, students in the QSB program will become scholars in the principles of quantitative biological techniques and be able to apply these approaches in their particular research topics.
